faq.

A Sola Gola® uses a galvanised RHS steel framework with waterproof hard-roof panels. Roofing options include polycarbonate and fibreglass sheeting in different tints and levels of opacity.

Sola Gola® shelters are custom-designed rather than supplied in standard fixed sizes. They can cover small entrances, long walkways and larger outdoor areas. The achievable span, height and layout depend on the site, structural design and applicable building requirements.

Yes. The Sola Gola® structures can be designed to suit existing buildings, entrances and pedestrian routes. You can customise the footprint, roof profile, post positions and finishes, with flat or curved roofing options available.

Yes. Sola Gola® structures incorporate roof-water drainage, with guttering designed to collect rainwater and direct it towards the agreed discharge point. The drainage layout is developed to suit the roof shape and your site conditions.

Yes. Lighting and speaker systems can be incorporated into suitable Sola Gola® designs. This can be useful for covered school walkways, outdoor learning areas and commercial entrances.

The Sola Gola® does generally require a council consent and if it does, the consent process is managed by Shade Systems. The exact requirements depend on the final structure and location, so our team assesses these as part of planning your project.

The lead time is approximately 3–6 months from contract confirmation and signing. However, this will vary depending on the dimensions of your Sola Gola®, design & consent requirements.

Yes, your structure will need regular maintenance and upkeep so you can enjoy peace of mind knowing it will continually perform optimally and look its best for years to come.
