Using their School Investment Package (SIP) Funding, Otaika Valley School were able to upgrade the outside of their classroom blocks. The need was to create a sheltered, all-weather space in front of the classrooms for student protection from the weather.

Having previously installed a large SolaGola® canopy at their school, Shade Systems were contracted to install similar style canopies again.

The largest SolaGola® canopy has an arched roof design to match the canopy adjacent to it. The other two SolaGola® canopies are a different design, what we call our ‘Modular’ Canopy; these are a basic, mono-pitched roof with sleek, robust hot-dipped galvanised framework.

All these structures have translucent fibreglass trafficable roofing – this is a MOE (Ministry Of Education) approved product for safety while still allowing plenty of light through.
