"Their knowledge of the requirements for the complexities of working in Schools and the design and installation of optimal and economic shade structures is admirable."

Paul Styles, Project Manager - Sunnyhills School

Sunnyhills School

An architects dream now a reality

The original scope of the Sunnyhills School canopy came from a landscape architect. These basic (but technical) pencil sketches Shade Systems took and turned them into a developed design for the School Board to approve and sign off.

The whole area is bounded by classrooms in a type of internal courtyard. This proved to be a bit of a headache come installation because of access to the area, disruption to classrooms on each side and getting enough overlap against the classrooms to make the whole area waterproof. We managed to achieve all of these while working in with builders below who were installing a deck and undertaking other minor construction changes.

As a result, this courtyard area has become a very functional waterproof space for students and staff alike who are very impressed with the completed structure. The different styles and elements used make an interesting combination and design.

The Sunnyhills School canopy was an architects dream which Shade Systems turned into a reality – he and the School are absolutely stoked with what we achieved from his sketches!
