Ormiston Junior in Flat Bush Auckland is part of the Ormiston Campus which is made up of three schools. The other two schools are Ormiston Senior College and Ormiston Primary.

In January 2017, the newly constructed Junior College opened. This 10,000 square metre school caters for years 7 to 10 and has a final roll capacity of 1130 students. In the centre of the school is an internal courtyard that is a multi-purpose space. This space is a learning area and a school gathering space. Ultimately, this courtyard provides a central hub and a focus for the internal learning commons. Knowing the importance of providing shade for the people of Ormiston Junior, Hawkins Construction who built the complex contacted Shade Systems.

Shade Systems has a love of outdoor learning. So we were excited to erect seven Modular Hypar Shade Sails in this courtyard area. These shades provide much-needed UV blocks for the students. Furthermore, they also add an artistic vibe to the central hub at Ormiston Junior College.
