Around New Zealand, junior cycle parks are becoming more and more popular.  Communities are fundraising to help the local government get these parks under construction and completed. The Gisborne District Council have recently added a junior cycle park to their local attractions. Thanks to the fundraising efforts of the Gisborne community, the project costing over $700K was completed by the end of December 2017.

The council knew the importance of protecting young children and the community from UV. Thus they included three shaded areas in their site plan. The shades would be strategically placed over seating and eating areas. Shade Systems tendered on these sun shade structures and were successful with our Hip Roof Structure design.

Therefore, Shade Systems undertook two scenic trips to the Gisborne coast area. The installation of these Hip Shades went very well – the lovely weather helped. These three shading structures stand out at the cycle park with their bright green painted framework and cream mesh fabric roof. With a 12 year warranty, the Hip Shades will help keep future generations sun-safe when they make use of the park.

We look forward to providing more shade sail systems at community sites like this.

Shade Systems can provide shading canopies for your project. Contact us today to discuss your options.
